This guy I know
he's not too bright.
Or he's brilliant,
I haven't yet
made up my mind.
He plays with me and
then forgets me, or
does he,
I don't know.
One day he's there
lingering and the next
gone, becoming distant
trying hard to force
my hand, or maybe not.
He'll love me next week
but not today,
I guess I can't blame him
I think I do the same.

Hi Deeeeeeem! This poem is sooo very good. It is at its core simple, yet lets us drill right into your conflicted little brain (which is awesome, eeps!) Mixed signals. Aaaaargh! Thanks for sharing that grey matter with us. It keeps me coming back for MORE!

Quite a ride. Like the ending,

"He'll love me next week
but not today,
I guess I can't blame him
I think I do the same."

Thanks A:, as always! :)

Hun, well, you're right about it being negative, because I know this person's attention, when it does happen, is fleeting.

Deem, we're going to have to Canonize that phrase for all the future generations of humanity to read in the museums:

"He's not too bright...or he's brilliant."

The more I say it the more I love it!

If Carrie Bradshaw wrote poetry, it would sound like this.

The last two lines are great, too. Boy, that sums up thousands of years of "issues" between men and women, doesn't it?

Question: why don't you title your poems?

For example "Oscillate" might fit this one, perhaps?

Well, I can think of much worse comparisons!
Hm, titling. some times i do. mostly its laziness, honestly.

Oh dear, NEVER read that stuff to find out what women want! For me, all I ever want truth.

The truth? That's refreshing. Too often, it seems, some people never want the truth.

In my mind, the truth is the foundation of a new beginning, whether it's what you want to hear or not.
